Our approach: ClueRally is built with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and never require players to create accounts or provide email addresses.
For Hosts (when making a purchase): We collect your email address through our payment processor, Stripe. This is used solely to deliver your access codes and purchase receipt. Stripe handles all payment card information — we never see or store your card details.
For Players: No personal information required. Players join hunts using access codes. No email, no account, no registration.
During hunts, players may submit photos and videos as part of challenges. This media is:
• Stored temporarily on our servers
• Visible only to the host and other participants of that specific hunt
• Automatically deleted after 90 days
ClueRally does not track player locations. Any location features in hunts use coordinates set by the host when creating clues — we do not access or store player GPS data.
We use essential session cookies to keep you logged into your hunt. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking scripts.
• Hunt data (clues, results, scores): Retained for the life of the hunt plus 90 days
• Photos and videos: Automatically deleted after 90 days
• Payment records: Retained as required by law for accounting purposes
Stripe: We use Stripe to process payments. When you make a purchase, you are subject to Stripe's privacy policy. Stripe may collect information necessary to process your payment.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All connections to ClueRally use HTTPS encryption. Access to hunt data is restricted to authenticated hosts and players with valid access codes.
You may request deletion of any data associated with your email address. Hosts can delete their hunts at any time, which removes all associated data including player submissions.
ClueRally is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since players don't provide personal information to participate, children can safely play in hunts organized by parents or guardians.
